SALISBURY, Md. – Dozens of babies and toddlers from across Delmarva competed for best in show on Sunday at Delmarva’s Beautiful Baby Contest.

The event is hosted by the Miss Delmarva Pageant.

These little boys and girls put on their best smile and some came under the spotlight for the very first time.

Winners got a beautiful tiara or crown and everyone got some toys just for participating.

Parents tell 47ABC they believe that these kinds of events will help build self-confidence in their kids sooner rather than later.

“When I was younger, I wasn’t used to being in front of large crowds of people, and I just wanted to make sure that my little one was okay with getting acclimated with being around more than just our family,” said Erica Henderson, a parent.

Parents add these sort of events also help them learn more about how well their kids interact with other people.
